Fabric, style or comfort. I wanted all three.
RuhRaaga began with the belief that these were never opposites.
The Philosophy
BUILT FROM A GAP, NOT A TREND
For 25 years, I wore what was served.
Some days I compromised on fabric. Other days, on style. Always for comfort.
I knew who I wanted to be seen as. I just rarely dressed as her. I'd feel the wish, quiet it, and pick what felt comfortable.
Somewhere along the way, I stopped believing I had to trade one for the other. It was a gap, and nobody had filled it. So I did.
Philosophy
WHAT I PROMISED MYSELF
We will not make her choose. Fabric, style and comfort, all in one garment.
We will dress the woman, not the occasion. Versatile pieces for every role you play, from the first meeting of the day to the last dinner.
We will not use polyester. Natural fibres only.
We will not chase the season. Our pieces are named for how she feels, not how they look, because a woman is rarely choosing a shirt. She is choosing how she wants to arrive.
The Craft
HOW A PIECE IS MADE
It begins with fabric, because fabric decides how a garment behaves at four in the afternoon, in Delhi, in August. Ours come from mills we have tested and trust.
Our size chart is built around Indian body types, so a fit made for her starts before the first stitch.
And it's finished by Indian hands, with details discovered rather than displayed: a block-printed facing at the cuff, a lining that shows for a second when a sleeve is folded.
